test and sign update

Hello everyone! I just wanted to make sure I knew how to do this. Also, Adam and I spoke with our friend and ASU art school graduate, Micheal White about our sign ideas. He clued us in that sandblasting requires a tool that not just anybody keeps around. He is an experienced metalsmith, and threw out the idea of using some metal in our sign. For example, the center of the sign could be wooden, with a metal overlay in which we cut out the words so that they showed up as wood. Does that make since? He said that kind of work is something he could do and it would be cheaper than sandblasting. He even offered up some of his own materials. Just wanted to see what people thought about that. I like both ideas and appreciated his input since i dont know much about high tech woodworking. Let's hear some feedback.

The metal/wood sign sounds

The metal/wood sign sounds very interesting. As far as I am concerrned, as long as the sign is attractive, sturdy, readable and affordable the materials don't really matter. I actually do know a couple of people who do sandblasting, I could get an idea of costs if you like.

yeah, I think a cost

yeah, I think a cost estimate on the sandblasting could be really helpful in presenting the ideas to the group.

ok, well it was kinda last

ok, well it was kinda last minute, the website does not seem to be contacting me with updates like I told it to. Anyway, I just called the sign company and got some general figures that should give us an idea.

The two weekends scheduled

The two weekends
scheduled for working in the garden have been rained or snowed out. Is anybody having a conversation about when to reschedule? Also, when is the next meeting?

Andy

Thanks Mecca for the sign

Thanks Mecca for the sign effort. I'm open to any which way it takes to get the sign up. It would be nice to keep cost to a minimum to none if possible. I would like to see the sign in within the next three Sundays. As for work days. I propose(d) we meet every Sunday from now on. Meet at 10am until... This is where we need a list of to do for those who are unsure of what to do. When I get back in town I will definitely continue collecting manure and mulch. Any other suggestions welcomed.

peace
