memebrship criteria and application info

here is a copy of the information that I discussed on thursday at the meeting. its a little unorganzied but the idea is clear. we need to define the workings of the garden. please look over this and make comment. i will use the comments to adjust what I have and get it in order, then in a week or two i will post the updated version again. thanks......

Things to Consider

(we need a calendar that has our goal deadlines such as when PR needs to start for plot applications, when workshop need to be scheduled by, etc)
Available plots will be assigned based on need. This will be determined through an application process. Application will be available in March (for this year have in April) and can be picked up at (location here)

Renewals will be granted based on the plotholder?s particpation in the garden, as well as on the commitment that was shown during the previous season. Renewal requests are to be received by so that the gardens leaders can prepare for the number of beds that need to be assigned the following year. (need to prepare a renewal application as well to be updated at the end of the season)

At the beginning of each season the plotholders will get together with the Community garden ?board?(need a different title here for those that are in charge) for an orientation session. All plotholders are expected to attend. During this orientation, new plotholders will recieve a packet of info containing guidelines, membership riles, scheduled work periods. Plot holders will also sign up for their garden attendant shifts.

membership criteria

it has yet to be decided whether or not there is a "due" for having a plot. maybe it should stand that to be a memerber one...

1. pays so much for a plot. in return they are provided with tools, a monthly newsletter, attend monthly meetings,

if someone does not a plot but wants to be a member thats okay too.
if someone wants to work in the community or permaculture area maybe there won't be any dues. they will still be required to folow the guidelines.

i think we also need a contract that is signed for members stating they will follow the guidelines, etc.

give me some feedback
